Our mission is to help people slow down, switch off their phones for a bit, switch on their reading lights and enjoy 12 books a year.
The Michelle Gordon Book Club is more than a community; it is a movement to make reading easy, joyful and part of everyday life again. We grew out of the belief that nobody should ever feel alone. We have designed our monthly book boxes to be a low-cost, accessible way to bring a little bit of magic to your door, offering amazing value for a monthly treat.
Our community meetings are free for everyone to join, because I want to ensure that no matter your circumstances, you always have a place to belong. Every box, every meeting and every conversation we create is built on that idea of connection through books, wherever you are in the world.
Each month, we hand-pick a brilliant book, wrap it with care and deliver it straight to your door. Whether you choose a one-off box, an ongoing subscription or one of our limited-edition bundles, every parcel is created to help you read more, unwind more and reconnect with yourself.
About Me – Michelle Gordon BEM
I have always loved books and I have always loved people. Both of my parents were avid readers and I grew up surrounded by stories. My very first Saturday job was in a library, where I was completely in my element. However, as life got busy, I eventually lost that spark for reading.
Starting the book club was my way of finding it again. It began as a small act of self-motivation and quickly grew into something much bigger: a community that celebrates connection, calm and the joy of a good story.
In 2020, during COVID, I co-founded the first online Women’s Institute group to make sure no one was left socially or financially isolated. It was completely free, and it inspired the Women’s Institute to launch paid online groups across the UK. In recognition of that work, I was honoured to receive the BEM in the King’s New Year Honours List 2022.
