Our Story
The Michelle Gordon Book Club is more than a community. It’s a movement to make reading easy, joyful and part of everyday life again.
Born from Rest, Recovery & Revival, we discovered how much calm, connection and inspiration reading brought to our members. That spark became something bigger: a subscription box and bookshop designed for busy people who still crave the feel of a real book in their hands.
Each month, we hand-pick a brilliant book, wrap it with care and deliver it straight to your door. Whether you choose a one-off box, an ongoing subscription or one of our limited-edition bundles, every parcel is created to help you read more, unwind more and reconnect with yourself.
What began as a lockdown book club has grown into a trusted independent bookseller loved by readers nationwide. We believe that reading can change your day, your mood and maybe even your life — and we’re here to make that possible, one book at a time.
About Me – Michelle Gordon BEM
I’ve always loved books and I’ve always loved people. My very first Saturday job was in a library, surrounded by stories and completely in my element. But like so many of us, life got busy and somewhere along the way I lost that spark for reading.
Starting the book club was my way of finding it again. It began as a small act of self-motivation and quickly grew into something much bigger — a community that celebrates connection, calm and the joy of a good story.
In 2020, during COVID, I co-founded the first online Women’s Institute group to make sure no one was left socially or financially isolated. It was completely free, and it inspired the Women’s Institute to launch paid online groups across the UK. In recognition of that work, I was honoured to receive the BEM in the King’s New Year Honours List 2022.
That experience reminded me how powerful connection can be. The Michelle Gordon Book Club grew out of that same belief — that nobody should ever feel alone. Every box, every meeting and every conversation we create is built on that idea: connection through books, wherever you are in the world.
